40th Anniversary of Eep Talstra Centre

31 October-1 November 2017, VU University Amsterdam

This year the Eep Talstra Centre will celebrate its 40th anniversary. It was in 1977 that Eep Talstra and his colleagues founded the Werkgroep Informatica, now the ETCBC, and began to use computers to analyze the Hebrew Bible. The work which started then continues today and into the future.

Two days of celebration

31 October will feature presentations by Eep Talstra and others on the past four decades of “Bible and Computer”, current projects, and future directions in Biblical Studies and Digital Humanities. A reception will follow the event.

1 November will feature special presentations on Bible Translation and Digital Humanities and syntactic variation in Biblical Hebrew.

The event is free but registration is required. Please register via this link.
