Amsterdam Data Science meeting: Coffee & Data #2
What’s a better way to start your morning than with coffee and data?
Amsterdam Data Science is organizing its second Coffee & Data event, a casual meetup for the Amsterdam area data science community, on March 20, 2015 (9am – 12pm). The meetup will bring together, through pitches for collaborative research projects, data science research activities throughout Amsterdam. If you’d like to pitch your research project, see format and guidelines below and submit your pitch by March 1, 2015.
Coffee & Data #2 will be hosted by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, and will take place at CREATE-IT applied research, Benno Premselahuis, Rhijnspoorplein 1 Amsterdam. The event is free of charge. If you would like to come, please register: http://www.meetup.com/Amsterdam-Data-Science/
9:00 – 9:30 Welcome & Coffee
9:30 – 10:00 Presentation: Funding opportunities for collaborative research projects, e.g. NWO RAAK www.regieorgaan-sia.nl, by Maarten Rottschäfer of the UvA/HvA Technology Transfer Office
10:00 – 10:30 Presentation: Collaborative Research Practices, by Robert van den Hoed, professor of Energy and Innovation at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences
10:30 – 12:00 Pitches and Networking
A selection of the submitted pitches will be presented in a plenary session. Afterwards, participants can further demonstrate and discuss their projects with the audience. Each project will have its own table on which to further showcase its plans.
PITCHES – FORMAT AND GUIDELINES
- A pitch must fit in one A4 page, with text font of 10pt or higher.
- It must carry the following information:
- Name and affiliation proposers
- Problem statement
- Project idea
- Expected results
- Partners (existing and envisaged)
- Name presenter
